A keycard, a stranger and a plan
The premise is told in the first person. The narrator’s keycard opens room 742, but the room is not empty: a man the narrator has never met is already inside. Leaving would be the normal reaction. The narrator stays instead.
Then the man’s wife knocks on the door. She is not shocked to find someone else there, because she arranged it. She chose the narrator herself, she has no intention of sending anyone away, and what she wants is to watch.
So the conflict is not a mix-up at all. It is a plan, and the wife is the one who made it. Candy AI lists no cast and gives the three characters no names.
One hotel, five episodes
Room 742 runs to five short episodes, and episode 1 lasts about a minute. Almost everything takes place in one hotel: a corridor, a room with a bed and a bedside lamp, and a bathroom.
The tone is quiet and slightly voyeuristic. Episode 1 has no dialogue scene between the three characters; it follows a woman arriving at the room and builds the idea of someone watching. Its most revealing moment is underwear, seen from behind; there is no nudity.
The phone call and the bathroom door
Around 0:14, once inside, the woman makes a call from the phone next to the bed. She looks annoyed during the call, then puts the receiver down and smiles. After that the tote goes down on the bed and she pulls her hair back, fully dressed for now.
The last part is shot through the gap of a half-open bathroom door. From 0:42 she undresses at the sink down to nude-coloured underwear. At the end she turns and sees that someone is watching her, and the episode stops on that look.
