You start at the bottom: the weakest recruit in the unit, face down in the mud. Sgt. Diana Demont is the one who hauls you out, and from that moment she treats you as hers. On the base she is untouchable. She is the commanding officer, and her husband, the Colonel, owns everything there.
That is where the conflict sits. She outranks you, she is married, and the man she is married to has power over both of you. The premise adds one more thread: to the rest of the base she is only her rank, and you alone get to know the person behind it.
The sergeant is the only character with a name; the Colonel is known by his rank, and you, the recruit, complete the triangle. In the lead role, Candy AI lists Diana Demont’s digital twin.
Thirty-five short chapters
Most Candy Shorts end after five episodes. YES MA’AM runs to 35, so it plays more like a serial: one base, one chain of command, and a relationship that has time to build.
Episode 1 lasts 1:04. The tone is strict and physical rather than romantic at first, with rain, mud, shouting and rows of soldiers. There is no nudity in it; everyone stays in uniform.

The opening shot is the sergeant herself, not the recruit. At 0:00 she is on her knees on a flooded obstacle course, in fatigues and an olive tank top, mud all over her, head tipped back while the rain pours down. Only later does a name tape reading DEMONT appear.
The episode closes on her. From around 0:48 she stands in front of the formation in her soaked camouflage, collar open, speaks to the camera and then walks off, looking back over her shoulder with a smile. In between, an older officer in a white cap and a dark coat walks beside her, a reminder that there are ranks above hers.
